All Prospective Hunters,
Wind River Whitetail Ranch (WRWR) is coming off of its 2016 Season.  We have harvested many mature heavy horned bucks on our property and we made some great hunting memories, friendships and had some unbelievable times.  We are now starting to focus on the 2017 season and wanted to make sure everyone has the correct hunt areas to apply for in 2017.

September Hunt – Archery Only
October Hunt — Area 157 type 1 (Any Antlered Deer)
November Hunt — Area is 157 type 3

Archery Hunts will need to apply for the November Hunt tag area 157 type 3 firearm permits.  If you are successful, you will have to purchase an additional inexpensive Archery permit this will allow you to hunt September only for Archery Bow.   The application process is through the Wyoming game and fish web site  or a using a search engine type “Wyoming Game and Fish''.

The success of our hunting operation has been to get bucks to a mature age.  Effective immediately, if a hunter shoots a buck that is younger than 3-1/2 years old there will be an additional $500.00 charged to you for your hunt.  The age of each deer harvested will be determined by myself and/or my taxidermist.
All hunting is fare chase with no high fences; we cannot guarantee success with free ranging Whitetail.  We have been blessed to harvest bucks for almost all hunters.

With that said, below is our 2017 Hunt Package:
Archery Package – 6 day hunt        $2,950.00
Rifle Package (Non Archery October & November)–Five (5) day hunt —     $3,450.00

All hunting package includes:  Lodging for the hunter, snacks, all meals (Breakfast after the morning hunt and Dinner after the evening hunt) , transportation from & to the Riverton WY airport.   Arrival will be the day before your hunt starts (to site in rifles) and departure will be the morning after you tag out or the morning of 7th day.

There's a deposit of 50% of your hunt package to hold your hunting dates until the 2017 WY draw results are announced, this deposit will be applied to your hunt for the first ½ of your hunt.  Once draw results are announced successful hunters will schedule there hunt with Kevin and the remainder of their hunt package payment will be due upon arrival at the ranch.  Those hunters that are not successful in the WY state draw will be refunded the deposit within 10 days of the announcement of the draw results.  If you draw and decide not to hunt you will forfeit your deposit.

Lodging accommodations: we have a very comfortable Hunting Lodge.  It is a fully furnished 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and television (DVD are available or you can bring your own).  In the past most clients who had Verizon Cellular were able to get service but we cannot guarantee it at the lodge, there is also no internet service.  We do have these services at the Ranch Head Quarters where we service you your meals for your convenience.    You should only need your hunting gear, personal hygiene necessities and of course your rifle or bow.   If you have any special dietary need please let us know prior to arrival, there may be an additional fee if your diet warrants this.  All non-hunting guest are welcome and there will be an additional $150 a day, sorry but non-hunting guest are NOT allowed in the field.

Check in is 1pm to 3pm the day before your hunt starts so you can shoot your rifle for accuracy, as we want everyone to be successful in their hunt!  Please remember if you wound an animal or draw blood that will be considered your deer and your hunt is over, of course we make every attempt to recover any wounded deer.

All Hunts start by walking out of the back door of the lodge.  We do not allow motorized vehicles on the river (except to retrieve a Buck). This hunt will require a lot of walking to and from the hunting stands.  Some of our stands are 5/8 of a mile from the lodge; we have pre-determined path ways to and from each one of our stands.   Wandering throughout the ranch river bottom will NOT be allowed and can result in your immediate termination of your hunt.   All of our stands are placed in positions to access the deer herd but not disturb the bedding grounds.  We have been hunting the property for the past 20 years and have a very clear understanding of how our deer herd moves throughout the river bottom.

Most of our stands are scent free, with swiveling office chairs and heaters.   It is important to control our scent from the lodge to the blind and you will be crossing shallow creeks so water proof boots are a must.  Some of our stands are open air, if you anticipate using one of these please bring your safety harness it can be installed prior to your hunt.  If we have a normal Wyoming hunting season you will most definitely need some very warm clothing for an open air blind.

Kevin will work hard to make your hunt and stay is the best hunt ever and look forward to seeing many of our past hunters again and always meeting new clients!
